Welcome Aboard, New Baker!

This may sound a little off to all my blog readers, but if you’ve read my blog before, then you shouldn’t be surprised, though let’s be real, I am.

I’m super excited to inform the blog reader world that I am taking Baking and Pastry Arts Management in exactly a week. I never put two and two together until James helped me apply to the program at Algonquin College.

I can become pro in the industry that crept up and said hello, you know how much you like to bake/host people… yeah, that won. Smile 

The program I chose is a two year program, and I get to come up with a business plan for my own restaurant/bakery… yep, another thing to excite me!!! Smile 

Can it be September 3rd yet? Please?

Baker’s Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Been in the mood to bake ever since someone spoke about baking. So, here is an easy chocolate chip cookie recipe I found.

Prep Time – 20 min.

Total Time – 32 min.

Servings – 3-1/2 doz. or 42 servings, 1 cookie (28 g) each

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 pkg. (300 g) baker’s semi-sweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350℉
  2. Beat butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Stir in flour and baking soda until well blended. Add chocolate chips, mix well.
  3. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough, 2 inches apart, onto baking sheets.
  4. Bake 10 to 12 min. or until lightly browned. Cool on baking sheet 3 min. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.

Sunny Day… Yet, I Feel Like Baking!

Hello all!

I think the title speaks for itself… it’s sunny where I live presently, and quite a beautiful day outside. I, however, apparently want to be stuck inside, baking. I guess I will blame the fact I posted an abundance of recipes earlier. It, suddenly struck the baker chord in me. Something like that, anyway.

There’s one problem… at least momentarily… I don’t have eggs.

I called my neighbour to see if they had any I could use. I only needed two eggs, so I called them and asked. I am waiting for them to get back to me… hopefully soonishly, as I want to bake before my energy deflates.

Currently I have three bananas taken out of the freezer, and thawing out… now to wait on the only ingredient I don’t have… eggs!
