Hello Insomnia! How Not Nice to See You!!

What is it with me and blog posts at strange hours? It is almost 2am, and obviously, again, I can’t sleep. Why is this? I have my own opinions.

  1. Money is coming in around 3:30am or so
  2. I usually wake up early on paydays anyway
  3. Usually grab breakfast early after I pay bills and whatnot

Now, I know these are odd ways for waking up at this hour, but it has been something my body has done for years… especially on payday. Why? I really don’t know, except for the fact that the earlier I get bills paid, the earlier I can go eat an early breakfast. Now, I must say, there are times where I will sleep until six or so, but that usually isn’t very often. In a way, kinda wish it would happen more often than it does.

what am I doing at this hour? I’m currently listening to the show archive I did yesterday, as I filled in for a DJ on the internet radio station I am on. What am I gonna do until money comes in? No idea! I’m just drinking ginger ale, and listening to my broadcast, not sure what else I’ll do. My body seems to hate me on paydays, and insomnia creeps in and takes a seat. How dare it do that! Oh well!

What to do now? Not sure, but all I know is I’ve got some time to kill.

This blog post is complete. Maybe I’ll write a more productive blog post soon.

FYI, I hate insomnia!!!

A Mixed Bag of Everything!!

I’m up at 3:30am, but I felt tired earlier. Still feel tired now, but I am wide awake at the same time.  This blog has a bit of everything, from stuff about me, to a new Cimorelli cover, and everything else in between. Let’s start with Sunday evening.

What happened Sunday evening you ask? I was booked in by the Civic Hospital sleep lab for a sleep study that coming Sunday. I had never had a sleep study before, and of course, I was extremely nervous. Lucky for me, I was able to take my sleep med for it.

What does a sleep study entail?

  • You go into hospital and sleep overnight
  • You get to follow your home routine when you go there to sleep
  • A technician is assigned to perform the sleep study
  • Electrodes are placed to monitor breathing, brain activity, heart rate, oxygen level, whether you snore or not, among other things

How do you place the electrodes so they don’t move? For ones in the air, you:

  1. Place the electrodes with gauze and this toothpaste-like goop
  2. The toothpaste-like goop is what adheres the electrodes to the hair
  3. The toothpaste-like goop does not harden, so it has to be washed out once the study is done

Putting on electrodes on the face and body

You simply use tape, like for me the technician used paper tape. There are two belts. One goes around your chest, and one that goes around your stomach.

The only pain about the sleep study is getting the toothpaste-like goop out of my hair. My boyfriend’s sister, Kathy had offered to pay and get my hair washed and trimmed at a salon as a birthday present. If it wasn’t for her, it honestly would have taken days to get the crap out of my hair! Just… ewww!!

Cimorelli cover – Mashup

Cimorelli recently did a mashup of The Band Perry’s “Live Forever,” and Cassadee Pope’s “I am Invincible.” Cimorelli did a cover and mashed those two songs together.

“Live Forever” by The Band Perry

“I am Invincible” by Cassadee Pope

“Live Forever/I am Invincible” Mashup by Cimorelli

I always find Cimorelli’s mashups to be pretty awesome!!! Let’s see what you think! Leave your comments in the comment section below!

Now the randomness of this blog is done. I shall write again hopefully soon, sooner than the last time! 😀

Hospital Again?

October 13, 2015:

Where do I start?  I can’t remember the painful parts, but I will recall as much as possible.

Firstly, from what I remember, the weekend was horrible.  From sleepy to going twitchy, to seeing things that aren’t there.  What an insane rollercoaster that was.

Now onto Thanksgiving day….Oh, how awesome it is.  Why?  All thanks to an awesome nurse.  My nurse’s name was Janis, pronounced Yanis.  He generally was on top of things and he was quite sociable.

Now onto the best part. You may have heard me mention sometime ago about my biological mother, Dawn. Well, she shocked us all and finally came to visit me in hospital. It was a long time coming, but I am so proud of her! I, at the back of my mind knew she could do it!!! It was nice talking, it really was. She also extended the olive branch and added me to Facebook! How cool! This just proves that time heals. I was there the rest of that day in awe! Still so proud!

October 16, 2015

Now, I am back home!! The first bit, without meds at home was horrible! It is nice to be home again!! Let’s just pray that I don’t end up back in hospital anytime soon!! Also still waiting for the hospital’s outpatient neurology clinic to call me, as I am going to see a headache specialist, Dr. Kristy. That can’t come soon enough!!

Now that I am home, I finally got to posting this blog! Will write another soon! Hopefully the whole biological family comes to see me from Carleton Place! I wanna go there so bad!! As I’ve always said, there is always time.

Well, this blog is done. Praying no more hospitals for a long, long while!
